The Slovenian Building and Civil Engineering Institute
Section for Timber Structures is a part of Department of Structures at the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG). It combines together researchers and experts with long years of experience in different special fields of civil and mechanical engineering. The staff of the Section co-operate with industry and firms which encounter problems or have questions in any of the Section's fields of work. They are also involved in the development and implementation of new test methods for the field of non-standard tests. Scientific work of Section for Timber Structures was up till now focussed to the studying the behaviour of long-term loaded elements at changing climatic conditions and assessing reliability and modelling of timber structures, as well as to the research of timber as a structural material. Section is also involved into standard tests of timber elements performed in the Laboratory for Structures.
